1920s Industry blossoms

As the export market bloomed, so did Nilfisk. In 1926, sales offices were established in Great Britain and Germany while other sales offices were quickly being erected around Europe.

An earlier advertisement from Nilfisk in Germany;

"Making housework easier means housewives have more time on their hands. Having a Nilfisk means freedom".

In 1922, a new vacuum cleaner design was launched, available for the first time on hire-purchase. This method of payment by installment was a huge success as sales rised over 300% compared to the previous year. The move provided middle class citizens the ability to afford a vacuum cleaner for the first time.

Hygiene became increasingly important in the 1920s. Pictures of moths and other unpleasantries were often used in Nilfisk’s advertising materials.
